Friends of mine  are taking the train to Anime North, so here’s a instructional guide of how to get from your point A (train station) to point B (Anime North) without any difficulty. I’m posting this because soon it will be easier to google for post than it would be to find it in your email.
Directions to Anime North from the Train Station Union Station: 65 Front St West, Toronto, ON M5J 1E6 Doubletree International Plaza Hotel: 655 Dixon Rd.
It’s simple to navigate the Toronto transit system. They have a bus on every major street and it comes every 2-30 minutes. I picked the biggest streets to minimize waiting time.Transit tokens are these tiny gold coins smaller than a penny. Friends of mine  are taking the VIA Rail train to Anime North, so I bring you an helpful guide of how to get from your point A (train station) to point B (Anime North) without any difficulty, because soon it will be easier to find this post from google than to do the same from your email.

Don’t take the cab unless you don’t mind being short of a ton of money before you even step foot into the dealer’s room~

It’s simple to navigate the Toronto transit system. There is a bus on every major street that comes about every 5-10  minutes. I picked the largest and easiest to find streets for this journey. Click on the links for google  streetviews to familiarize yourself with each stop.

Transit tokens are these cute gold coins smaller than a penny. You can buy them from machines at the subway station not far from where you’re getting off.

Price: 5 tokens for $12.50 [Fare Information]

Directions to Anime North from the Train Station

Union Station: 65 Front St West, Toronto, ON M5J 1E6 [Location and Contacts]

Anime North/Doubletree International Plaza Hotel/Toronto Congress Centre: 655 Dixon Rd.

Google Maps: Train Station —> Anime North (I’ve marked off the place where you will transfer, but the route on map is not the route you’ll take)

Procedure:

1. Get off at Union Station on the train. Buy tokens.

2. Ride the subway that is “Northbound to Downsview” to Lawrence West Station (this means you get off on Lawrence St.) Grab a transfer.

[Note "Northbound to Finch" is in the opposite direction of "Northbound to Downsview". Northbound to Downsview leads to Lawrence West Station :) while Northbound to Finch leads to Lawrence Station :(   ]

3. Head upstairs and take a Westbound “Malton 58″ bus (any branch) and ride until you get to the Doubletree. The bus stop is right in front of a Harvey’s. (If you’re staying at a hotel beyond the bridge, like Crowne or Raddison, ask the bus driver if there’s another stop there if you don’t want to walk with luggage.)

Reverse steps for safe return. :D

This is for those who wishes to save a bit more money by riding the Greyhound or a Coach.

Directions to Anime North from Toronto Coach Station

Main Greyhound Station in Toronto: 610 Bay Street, M5G1M5 [Location and Contacts]

Anime North/Doubletree Hotel: 655 Dixon Rd.

Google Maps: Coach Station –> Anime North

Procedure:

1. Get off at the Toronto Coach Terminal. Head south on Bay St one block. Turn right on Dundas St. until you reach the St.Patrick Subway Station on the corner of Dundas and University (the entrace is in front of a TD Bank) Buy tokens inside.

2. Continue from step 2 from the instructions above.

After I wrote this, I found this very helpful thread on cosplay.com. It has alternative explanations of the same route and pointers about scheduling if you’re planning to travel very early or very late at night. I also combined info from there for more detailed instructions.

Me And The Boyfriend.

Vivid Dreams 5 Comments »

In the last year I’ve been able to recall my dreams more vividly in the 12 hours immediately after waking. I’ll tell them in details to my roommate if it’s funny, but even if I tell my roommate, I’ll forget the 90% of the details in two days. Does that happen to you?

As a result of a roommate deep in slumber… though it takes more effort, Hello blog.

Sometimes I’ll believe I’m someone else in a dream, but for the most part it isn’t emotional.

This one was.

In this dream, a guy and I just began to date. It wasn’t anyone I know. He had an pretty face and an attractive body, whatever. I can’t remember his visual details.

If we were in an anime, there’d be hearts in our eyes and bubbles all around, that kind of stuff. I don’t even remember what else we did. Just that went up a whole bunch of floors by spiral stairs at nighttime and sat on a red metal balcony (like those ones with holes in the steps) and talked, I think. If I really like my friends, I’ll feel protective of them, but with dream-dude it was different. Unfortunately I only remember thinking that it was different but not what it felt like.

Mirabelle called me on my cellphone and I was hyperaware of what he thought of what he heard from my side of the conversation on the phone. I laughed, make jokes in the short conversation with Mira and thought I looked pretty good to him. With friends, you don’t really pay attention to that.

Anyhow I came my senses after waking up, “What the heck was that??? I don’t even want a boyfriend!” and all the rhetorical pink bubbles were gone. Haha.

I don’t want one or need one, but thought it was pretty funny that I would dream of having a boyfriend *and* believe in it as the holy truth in the dream. Out of all my friends, I’d be one of the least likely to get in such a relationship.

Oh hai, new cool skill discovery for me —

– I found out that I can bring out tears on command.

To begin, just let your open your eyes long enough to let them dry out. You don’t need to open them as large as possible; instead, it helps to make the same facial expression and body movements as when you normally would do when you cry. (Maybe you shrug your shoulders, look down, or bite your lips, etc…) Your body will associate the body movements, your expression and the mild pain in your tear ducts as it works to pump out fluid to a mild feeling of sadness.
It’s like automatically feeling happier when you smile. Magical.
Remember when people cry, they are not bawling or squeezing their eyes. Most of the time, they’re trying to hold back.
For a more advanced challenge, you can draw upon that mild sadness and imagine something depressing for more authentic tears. I can’t do this part when people are watching. I tried it once to see if I could at a time when I was already sad from reading dialysis patient experiences online. It resulted in me going out of breath from crying. It was so intense and terrible that I don’t think I’ll try it again. ><;;
Eh, but it’s fun just to see if you could.

For a more advanced challenge, you can draw upon that mild sadness and amplify it by imagining a scene, a possibility, a memory, or anything else depressing for more authentic tears. Imagining your friends and family does not.

Eh, but it’s fun just to see if you could stir yourself up from that. ^^

(I’d love to try this with a cosplay sometime.)

Anybody can cry, but not everyone has the talent to act.

This is the audition for the boy from E.T. Amazing. He could change his emotion in a flash.

2PM Anti-Fans Needs to Fill That Cavity for Which They Call A Brain. Please?

Life, Music 1 Comment »
My thoughts on the stunning number of anti-fans 2PM has gained over the past few days and an analysis on their harsh behaviours:
They’ve left flowers symbolizing death, continued to boycott merchandise; ex-Hottest have even posted the members’ social security numbers and committed fraud.
This anti-fan stuff is shit. Once they gained an ability to think rationally, they’ll stop.
With all this focus on his unforgivable mistake that revealed him to be unsuitable for this business, you’d think Jay murdered a man or something!
If Jay wanted to come back, he would have done so easily. They company would have covered everything up and continued to earned his money. The company might have even found legal loopholes that asked Jay for an impossible amount of money in order to break his contract, thus forcing him to stay. There was absolutely no need to tell us that Jay made a grave mistake. I think the ‘mistake’ is to AN EXCUSE to allow a extremely popular artist to leave the Korean entertainment permanently.
The anti-fans say, “They turned their backs on Jay. They tarnished his name and threw him away like trash.” Anti-fans are killing and over-reading into the official statement where the members deemed it “difficult to work with Park Jaebeom as the group 2PM any longer”. The members agreed to his leave because they had no choice. If Jay wanted to leave, forcing Jay back would make the members real traitors. Isn’t it clear that no one in their right mind would want Jay to quit? Even from a business point of view that much is obvious.
For the members, promoting the new 6 membered 2PM is the best way to lessen Jay’s guilt from the damage he’s causing by his withdraw. Fans are angered by this, criticizing them for not deeply mourning their loss in public. Revealing nothing about Jay’s issue is also protecting him. Undoubtedly, if they reveal his mistake, FANS WILL FORGIVE HIM and immediately demand for Jay’s speedy return.
If Jay never wants to return, 2pm will never reveal his mistake.
Anti-fans are a product of the influence of media on public opinion. It is mob think. Irrational and fueled by emotion. You don’t see Yunho and Changmin gaining this many anti fans because they didn’t sue their company with JaeChunSu. These two are publically against JaeChunSu and TVXQ fans just think, “Ahhh, SM is putting words in their mouth because they don’t actually hate JaeChunSu. KEEP THE FAITH!” When rumours of Hangkyung’s permanent leave floated around, Hangkyung was the traitor, not the other members of SJ. When Sunmi temporarily left Wonder Girls for school, people wished her luck and hoped for a happy future reunion through tears.
Many of the 2pm anti-fans are simply influenced by the media’s quick reports of other negative ex-Hottests’ behaviours at an emotionally vulnerable moment, and hence, following mob-think without thinking. If it were possible, JYP should not have focused on the members’ agreement to Jay’s leave in the official announcement.
Mob-think is easy to be sucked into when you lose the one you love. Why the hell would these anti fans still think they are protecting Jay Park?

For some reason it reminds me of Gackpoid and Luka from the voice synthesizer software, vocaloid. I wonder why? ^_~*

(Gackpoid = THE Gackt’s real voice, available to sing whichever song that you ever wanted, provided you know how to program him to do so.)

gah. shout out.
